* SLS has started the training project for Brighter 2, Gregory Jewellers and Commonwealth Bank from October to December 2011.
* SLS will organise an Indonesian Colloquial Workshop in November 2011.
* SLS has provided a bilingual staff to accompany Sydney visitors from Indonesia and received great feedback.
* SLS will open NAATI course and more OET class on weeknights on November 2011 and continue this until 2012.
* SLS is currently working on implementing Moodle for online learning. This will be launched as a FREE Student Portal for all students of SLS.
* SLS played an important role at The National Achievers Congress 2011 held in Sydney between 26 and 28 September 2011. The congress involved famous people from all over the world, including Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki, Anthony Robbins and many more. SLS provided cabin interpreting services for a delegation of Vietnamese VIP audience members who were in attendance and who needed presentations translated from English to Vietnamese.
* Dr Na Pham has been doing a study about the learning need and difficulties of Australian adult learners at SLS in acquiring an Asian language.

On 20th May 2011, the Australian Minister of Education and Citizenship, Chris Bowen announced a significant change in the English language test options for international student visa applicants.
In addition to the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) used currently, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) and the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) from Cambridge ESOL will be used for applicants from all countries. However, IELTS will continue as the test required for the growth category of skilled migrants sponsored by employers. Already some have welcomed additional test options because they will speed up the assessment process.
