Meet English Teachers of SLS

Grace Rahmat

Qualifications: 

Grace has a Bachelor degree in Business from Victoria University in Melbourne and a Graduate Certificate in TESOL from University of Technology, Sydney.

Teaching Experience: 

Grace has held senior administration positions for the past 8 years and has worked with some of the most distinguished organisations in Australia such as: Macquarie Group, KPMG Australia and Dimension Data. Working in Human Resources has given her understanding and knowledge about Business fundamentals and Recruitment. She is a compassionate teacher  who remains sensitive to students unique needs, employs effective listening, provides individual and whole group support, and offers positive encouragement and reinforcement to keep students focused and motivated. She is a very passionate about Education and helping students to achieve success and specialising in pronunciation, conversation and also in writing resumes and interview techniques.

 

Luis Rodriguez

Qualifications: 

Luis is a diploma in Spanish Instituto de Cervantes C2 Teaching Level in university of Deusto Bilbao, Spain.

Teaching Experience: 

Luis has worked in different schools before teaching in Sydney Language Solutions. He was once English teacher in International Centre, Velvet School, St Georges English Academy, Drogheeda School in Bilbao, Spain. He is experienced in teaching both adults or children and is an expert in his area.

 

Nicholas John Gysi

Qualifications: 

Nic is a Bachelor of Arts from University of Western Sydney majoring in History, Politics and Philosophy. He is a qualified English teacher, holding a Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) and also Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

Teaching Experience: 

Nic has worked as ESL teacher in Australian Pacific College School of English, being responsible to teach English Grammar, vocabulary, speaking, writing and listening skills to young adult students. He also worked as ESL Teacher in Bridge Business College ELICOS Department and Sydney International English College (S.I.E.C).

Who is this course for?

This course aims to improve your vocabulary, your pronunciation and increase the level of fluency and accuracy of your speech through a variety of speaking activities.

You should join this class only if your English level is above Upper Intermediate and need improment in pronunciation and specch fluency.

Pronunciation, Speaking - Debating

"ea" words. "ea" pronunciation

Week 4

Pronunciation, Speaking - Debating

Family relationships. Stress in words.

Week 5

Pronunciation, Speaking - Debating

Family relationships. Words confused because of pronunciation, difference in pronunciation, and use. Word linking. Weak forms

Week 6

Pronunciation, Speaking - Debating

Weak forms-continuation. Reading aloud

Week 7

Pronunciation, Speaking - Debating

Stress and intonation- intonation in "Wh-" questions, Stress in multi word verbs, Everyday English conversations, stress in multiword verbs.

Week 8

Sounds and spelling- the sounds /i:/, /I/, and /aI)- Listening, Practice the sounds. The silent "-e" rule

Who is this course for?

This course will help you to participate in business conversation as well as to compose and read business documents and informal letters.

To join this class, your English level should be English Intermediate.

Those who want to improve the knowledge of grammatical structures of English sentences for their writing or IELTS exam.

English Grammar (Intensive Course)

Who should join this course?

- Students who have finished English Intermediate Level

- University Students who are having difficulty with their writing due to insufficient knowledge of grammar

- Students who are currently at Band 5.5-6 of IELTS and aiming to have 7

- Students who are currently attending OET or IELTS Preparation Course and need to improve their skills in IELTS as quickly as possible.

What will be covered?

+ Fundamental knowledge of sentence structures, classes, tense, linking words, preposition and phrases in English.

+ Homework for you to practice in your own time

+ Correction from teachers to help students using grammatical structures to write better English

+ Real examples from students' writing will be used to show grammatical erros and how to fix it

Course Length:  

2 weeks, 6 hours per week in class = 12 hours in total + 4 hours of self study (compulsory)

Resume Writing Workshop

This one-day workshop is to help you to write a well-presented resume when applying for a job.

The trainer will provide you with tips and strategies to write an impressive resume for yourself. Please bring along both the soft copy and hard copy of your resume to practise writing.
