5-hour Mandarin workshops for travellers
Upcoming workshop: Sunday 2 May 2010 from 1:30pm-6:30pm
Fee: $65
- This workshop is intended for travellers or visitors who will visit China in the next 3 months, who want to have a very basic Mandarin language and understanding about the country.
- It is designed for those who do not have time to come to class for 10 consecutive weeks or who just want to have a brief knowledge about the language and culture.
- The workshop is 5 hour, which is on Sunday every month. In the workshop, you will be taught some basic survival Mandarin expressions, some cultural dos and donts, some basic tips to bargain, survive and handle the traffic.
- You may also watch a short version of Chinese movie. You can prepare questions and we will try our best to inform you
- You are recommended to buy a Lonely Planet Guide in Chinese and bring with you on the day.
Mandarin for Beginners/Travellers
For learners who have no knowledge of the language and want to know simple words and phrases for a short visit to China.
For learners who have no knowledge of the language and want to begin a course of study to be able to communicate with a Mandarin speaker/partner or friend.

For learners who have the ability to understand fairly complex sentence structures and want to improve in vocabulary and fluency.
Mandarin for Advanced Learners
For learners who have the ability to understand most conversations and want to correct any grammar or pronunciation errors.
Mandarin Reading and Writing for Home Speakers
For learners who have some ability having learnt the language at home from relatives and who want to build stronger writing and speaking skills.
Mandarin for Children
We also provide a special program for Chinese children where they can learn to decipher the Chinese alphabet, tone, etc.
- The HSC course provides complete preparation for the HSC in Mandarin and covers the skills and knowledge required in the Stage 6 syllabus for the HSC examination.
- We use all assessment tasks supported by the board of studies and past HSC exam papers including listening CDs in our lessons to intensively support students to prepare for HSC exams.
- We are also in regular contact with high school teachers, which allows us to keep up to date with any changes in curricula and have a source of valuable and current teaching materials.
