Week 1 Introduction to Burmese tones and sound system
Alphabet/Characters - Identification and Pronunciation
Week 2 Greetings
Week 3 Asking for nationality
Week 4 Telling the time - Numbers - Days of the week - Months of the year
Week 5 At the restaurant - Asking for some food & drink items
Week 6 At the hotel - Names & forms of address
Week 7 On the street - Asking directions to specific places
Week 8 Going shopping - money - Shopping for souvenirs
Week 9 How to get to a place (getting a taxi)
Week 10 Seasons and weather

Expected Outcomes:
By the end of this course students will be able to:
- pronounce all the sounds and tones in Burmese
- say hello, goodbye, thank you and greetings
- tell and listen to the time
- say numbers, weeks, months and years
- order food at a restaurant
- ask a receptionist at a hotel
- asking for direction
- get a taxi or buying a train ticket
Course Duration: 10 weeks, 2 hour session per week
