Na Quynh Phu Pham - Director

Qualifications:

Na Pham has a Doctor in Philosophy (Education) at University of Western Sydney, a Master of Arts in TESOL at National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Arts
at Vietnam National University. She is also a NAATI Accredited Translator and has Certificates in Project Management, Business Communication and Report Writing, ESL Training and Certificate IV in Assessment and Training.

Na has won several prizes and scholarships, including ASEAN Postgraduate Scholarship - National University of Singapore (1999), International Postgraduate Research Scholarship - University of Western Sydney (2001), Summer Research Award - University of Western Sydney in conjunction with Ethnic Communities Councils of NSW (2005) and Travelling Award - University of Western Sydney (2004, 2005)

Work Experience:

Na Pham has a vast experience in five major fields: translation, language teaching, language researching, language consulting, and language teaching material designs.

She has more than 12-year experience languages (both English and Vietnamese) from different ethnic, socio-cultural background and groups of ages. Her experience includes teaching English at Vietnamese National University, National University of Singapore, EF Language Travel, ABC Study Groups, Sydney Community College and MTC Training Solutions. She has been currently working as a lecturer at Australian Campus Network - La Trobe University.

She is a language consultant for many language research projects, which includes MARCS Laboratory - University of Western Sydney (studies on Vietnamese tone and Vietnamese pronunciation), Ethnic Community Councils NSW (studies about language needs of emerging communities in Sydney), Cancer Council NSW (Hepatitis B and liver cancer among Vietnamese communities in Sydney) and School of Nursing and Midwifery ( Gestational Diabetes and Health Education Resources Project ).

Cantonese Language Consultants

Annie Zhang

Annie Zhang is a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese. She can teach Mandarin and Cantonese of all levels. She is capable to read and write both simplified and traditional Chinese.

Annie Zhang has been teaching Cantonese from beginners to advanced level in Sydney approximately 2 years.

She also has more than 4 years experience of tutoring high school students, junior high school students and elementary school students in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

 

Paul Lee

Qualifications:

Paul has a MBA degree from the University of Adelaide and a Bachelor's Degree of Education from China. He is a NAATI accredited translator between English and Chinese. Apart from Chinese mandarin, he also speaks Cantonese and Southwestern dialects fluently (virtually he can communicate with the majority of Chinese in their first languages). He is also passionate about history, culture and arts.

Experience:

Paul runs a business consulting service in Sydney to facilitate trading and cultural exchange between Australia and China. He has over 15 years work experience in Australia and China in the fields of sales, marketing, business development, translation service and business consultation. Laura Peels

Qualifications:

Laura is currently studying Human Rights (Master) at the University of Sydney and she holds a Bachelor in (television) Journalism. She speaks Dutch (mother tongue), English, French, German and a little Spanish.

Experience:

Laura has been tutoring immigrants who were coming to the Netherlands for almost two years. She assisted people in finding a suitable Dutch language course and helped keeping them on track with their learning process. She has been an editor in chief for a television channel ran by young people, translated travel brochures from Dutch to English, did freelance work for Dutch newspapers and magazines and interned for the Kids News Network in Suriname. In the human rights area, she is particularly interested in linguistics, press freedom, communication& development .

Adriana Mucea

Qualifications: 

Adriana has a Bachelor degree in Arts in Romanian and English Language and Literature from Transilvania University, Brasov, Romania. She also hold a Certificate IV in TESOL, CELTA Qualification as well as Certificate for Training and Assessment.

Teaching Experience: 

Adriana is originally from Romania. She been passionate about learning and teaching languages since childhood. Over the past ten years she has been working as a teacher and translator of medical English. She worked in public schools in Romania teaching general English and in vocational schools teaching English for the tourism and hospitality industry. While in the Czech Republic she also taught exam English. In Australia she has been teaching general English and also IELTS.

 

Carlos Raso

Qualifications: 

Carlos has a Master of Arts [TESOL] @ University of Western Sydney, a Bachelor of Arts [Languages] - Majoring in Linguistics & Spanish @ University of Western Sydney. He also has Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training @ Jobs Australia

Teaching Experience: 

During my teaching career I have worked at some of Sydney’s most distinguished institutions of education. I have taught the AMEP at the University of New South Wales - Global Institute of Languages. I have also worked in the Employment Preparation Section of TAFE, as the LLNP Coordinator. While at TAFE I taught the LLNP and ESOL. Prior to this I was employed as Head Trainer at MTC Training Solutions, where my position involved managing 5 trainers and 200 students. Danny Ruch

Qualifications: 

Danny is originally from Switzerland and moved to Australia in 2006. He completed the First Certificate in English (FCE) in 2003, followed by the IELTS in 2009 with an overall band score of 8.5. Furthermore, Danny graduated from AMP College of Business and Communication with an Advanced Diploma of Marketing as well as a Diploma in Business Management.

Teaching Experience: 

Having been working in a Marketing position for the worldwide market leader in construction materials Danny also teaches IELTS Preparation Course in Sydney Language Solutions and other colleges. His enthusiasm in helping people preparing for IELTS along with his authentic experience in the IELTS Examination has helped a lot of his students in improving themselves for IELTS.

 

Grace Rahmat

Qualifications: 

Grace has a Bachelor degree in Business from Victoria University in Melbourne and a Graduate Certificate in TESOL from University of Technology, Sydney.

Teaching Experience: 

Grace has held senior administration positions for the past 8 years and has worked with some of the most distinguished organisations in Australia such as: Macquarie Group, KPMG Australia and Dimension Data. Working in Human Resources has given her understanding and knowledge about Business fundamentals and Recruitment. Luis Rodriguez

Qualifications: 

Luis is a diploma in Spanish Instituto de Cervantes C2 Teaching Level in university of Deusto Bilbao, Spain.

Teaching Experience: 

Luis has worked in different schools before teaching in Sydney Language Solutions. He was once English teacher in International Centre, Velvet School, St Georges English Academy, Drogheeda School in Bilbao, Spain. Nicholas John Gysi

Qualifications: 

Nic is a Bachelor of Arts from University of Western Sydney majoring in History, Politics and Philosophy. He is a qualified English teacher, holding a Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) and also Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

Sapna Kalra

Gerardus Gerry Yuwono

Qualification:

Gerry is a native speaker of Indonesian. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Commerce - Management from University of Sydney.

Teaching Experience:

Gerry has had a lot of experience in teaching Indonesian to English-Speaker. Once before, he trained a representative of Meat and Livestock Australia who are going to be relocated to Indonesia. Many found him very enthusiastic and very good in answering student's doubt about the Indonesian language. He is a creative person who always try to make his lesson interesting as well as enriching for his students.

With his fluency in English, he can easily explain his own language from an English Speaker perspective, making it easy to understand. He can  adjust his language accordingly to the people that he speaks to. Gerry also has a strong knowledge of Indonesian culture in Australia as well as in Indonesia that is established from his significant involvement in the Indonesian community in Sydney. One of his major skill is public speaking, especially in Indonesian.

 

Diana Rose

Qualifications:

Dian Rose has her Bachelor of Psychology from the Tarumanagara University, Indonesia.

Teaching Experience:

She has extensive experiences in teaching Indonesian for more than 5 years. She has also worked as an assistant lecturer during her studies. In addition to that, she also spent some time working as a radio broadcaster and scriptwriter at three different radio stations in Jakarta. Chie Shattel

Qualifications:

Gaining my BAs in Business English & Teaching English as a 2 nd Language in Japan, I was able to enjoy my start in teaching prior to graduation & continued for 3 years. I am also a qualified teacher in calligraphy, tea ceremony, ikebana, kimono dressing & traditional Japanese music (Kouta).

Work Experience:

Locally, I’ve been teaching Japanese for 15 years, from year 2 to professionals needing business & travel specific language, including airline staff.

Internationally, I’d gained my Certificate as a Local & International Tour Guide & had worked for 15 years prior to that. I have coordinated placement of Japanese language teachers into Australian schools for 4 years.

Takayuki Shimomura

Qualifications: 

TAKAYUKI SHIMOMURA has finished his Master of Education (2002) at Hyogo University of Teachers Education, Bachelor of Science in Law (1994) at Aichi University and is currently a PhD candidate at University of Sydney. He has published 7 refereed and 4 non-refereed articles and has presented in many international conferences. He is currently working as Japanese Language Coordinator and Teacher for Sydney Language Solutions.

Work Experience:

He has worked as Japanese Language Assistant for Tweed River High School and Griffith University from 2001-2002. He also worked as translator and editor for Hyogo Global Education Project (to better understanding of the United States among Japanese pre-college teachers) funded by the US- Japan Foundation from 2002-2006.

 He was also a government and university Research Project Assistant at Hyogo University of Teachers Education Takayuki. Since 1994, he also has extensive experience teaching Social Studies, Japanese History, World History, Geography, Politics and Economics, Japanese and Computer at Toba Senior High School (Public School of Mie Prefecture Japan).

 

Toshiko Jackson

Qualifications:

M.A. in Asian Studies that includes Advanced Studies for teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language, Graduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics, Graduate Diploma in Japanese Applied Linguistics, Diploma in Education and BA in Arts. (All postgraduate degrees are from Monash University.) She has a publication in “Australia Language Matters”, ANU, on teaching methods in Japanese. Her M.A. thesis (32,000 words) was on Japanese corporate management and its car manufacturers’ overseas activities. It earned H.D. at Monash University.

Work Experience:

Toshiko Jackson has been teaching Japanese language and culture in Australia for 26 years. She has taught in schools, coaching colleges, TAFEs, universities and corporate courses in Sydney and Melbourne in part time, full time and casual roles. Also, Toshiko has taught all Stages of HSC, Business Japanese for 4 Japanese multi-nationals’ training courses, the University of Sydney and RMIT. She taught for the Japanese Proficiency Tests, Levels 1 to 4. She was the Depart Coordinator of L.O.T.E. and Japanese Course Coordinator for the Certificate IV at Language Centre, Holmesglen Institute of TAFE, Melbourne for 7 years until the end of 2000. Additionally she was an interpreter and worked for translation in Melbourne for a few years. She migrated from Japan to Australia 31 years ago.

Ashley Jang

Qualifications:

Ashley is doing her Master of Education (TESOL) degree at the University of Sydney. Her MEd dissertation title is “An examination of Korean migrants’ English article use and learning difficulty in Australia” which would be published soon.

Experience:

Ashley is a highly qualified teacher who possesses a secondary teacher’s license from Department of Education in Korea. Prior to migrating to Australia, she has worked as a tutor and an educational content developer at Hankook University of Foreign Studies (Oedae Language Centre) and YBM Education Korea. Moreover, she has worked as an associate instructor in business English in Seoul for many years. She taught English and business studies to employees working in bank, tele-communication companies, accounting firms and stock companies including Pricewaterhousecoopers, POSCO, Hana Bank, Kyundai-Kia motors and SK Tele-communications.

Qualifications: 

Jiyoon has a Master Degree in French Literature and a Certificate in  TESOL.

Experience:

Sarah Yong

Qualifications:
Sarah Yong finished a Master of Education (TESOL) and Graduate of Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (FEFL) at the University of Sydney. She completed a bachelor of Home Economics in Korea.

Teaching Experience:
Sarah has two years’ experience as an English teacher in the IELTS School, Korea before she migrated to Australia. She has extensive experience in teaching English (IELTS) for adults and Korean for primary and high school students as a tutor. She has been currently teaching TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) to Korean migrants high school students. Anne Ma

Qualifications:
Anne Ma has Master of Teaching degree from Griffith University, and has accredited teaching registration for teaching mainstream classes in Australian educational system. She also has Bachelor of Art degree in Business English from Fudan University, one the leading universities in mainland China. In addition, she will soon be completing another graduate teaching degree at University of New South Wales specialising in Chinese language and ESL teaching.

Work Experience : 
Anne Ma has had five-year working experience with Würth, which is a German multi-national trading group that has more than 380 subsidiaries all over the world with annual sales turnover of 80 billion Euros. She worked there as a category manager, in charge of purchasing, SAP training to product management team and also PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) product know-how  training to sales managers within the group. Thanks to her work, Anne travelled around, both in Asian region and Europe; therefore she gained rich experience of cooperating with people from various cultural backgrounds. She is specialised in business process and culture in China and the Asia as a whole. Cigi Zhong

Qualifications: 

Cigi is a native speaker of Mandarin and she got her Bachelor of Education from Harbin Normal University in China . She also has Master Degree of Education from the University of Sydney. Jing Hao

Renee Morabito

Qualification:

I have got a degree as a French and Spanish interpreter from University of Interpreters and Translators, Genoa, Italy. I also have DALF Diplomas (professional diploma for French teaching) and DELE Diploma (professional diploma for Spanish teaching) I lived one year in Spain, where I attend a Spanish course at Universidad Pontificia, Salamanca, one of the most popular universities in Spain.

Teaching Experience:

After my graduation, I worked as a finance advisor for Generali Insurance – Acqui Terme in Italy. Then, I worked as interpreter for 3 years as a conference interpreter in social areas for Tourism Office – Genova, Italy. I also got experience as a translator, working as Touristic Prospectus Translator in the Tourist Office, Acqui Terme, Italy from 2000-2003. I worked for as a training officer, in Disneyland, Paris. Kung Onvadee

Qualification: 

Kung is from Thailand. She graduated with Bachelor Degree in Humanity majoring in Thai Communication from UTCC (University of Thai Chamber of Commerce). She also completed Certificate IV for Training and Assessment from Sydney.

Shaye PM

Qualification:

Shaye is a native speaker, originally from Bangkok - the heart of Thailand. She graduated in Communication Designs in Sydney and currently studying in Master of Creative Enterprise.

She has done many one-to-one tutor for foreigners to be able to speak a proper Thai, whether it's casual Thai, Business usage or an Appropriate Thai - in any occasions.

She is capable to teach reading and writing, addition to that, Shaye used to be a Blogger for a famous Thai Blog that talked about how does it feels like to live overseas since High School and was acknowledged by several Thai Agency - both in Thailand and Australia.

Brandon Bang Pham

Qualifications:

Graduated from the University of Queensland and University of Western Sydney, he holds double degrees in Language teaching and Translation. Dai Thanh Tran

Qualifications:

Dai has a Master’s Degree of Computer Engineering (2007) from Kyung Hee University, Korea , CCNA Certification from iPMAC Networking Academy, Bachelor Degree in Data Communications and Computer Networks (2005). He is currently a PhD student at University of Technology, Sydney. Le Quan Ly (Jenny)

Qualifications:

Jenny is a Vietnamese native speaker.  She is doing her Bachelor of Science in Medical Science degree at the University of Technology, Sydney. She also speaks Cantonese and Mandarin fluently which allows her to communicate with people from different countries. She is currently working as Vietnamese Teacher for Sydney Language Solutions.

Experience:

Jenny is experienced in teaching Vietnamese to students from different background with her strong passion to help and communicate with people. Additionally, she has also worked as a tutor and a Vietnamese-English-Chinese translator for more than 3 years. With her devotion and enthusiasm, she can certainly support Vietnamese students in their learning.
 

Julie Lam

Qualifications:

Julie Lam is a Vietnamese native speaker.  She graduated from Vietnam University of Social Sciences and Humanities with a Bachelor Degree in English Linguistics and Literature.

Experience:

Julie has a lot of experience in teaching Vietnamese and English to students from different age groups. She has a particular interest in communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures. She has also worked as a Vietnamese - English translator and interpreter. Julie has a great passion in teaching and translating. Qualifications: 

Tony is a Vietnamese native speaker. He was born in Vietnam and did his Bachelor in Vietnam. He also did the Master of Information technology at the University of technology Sydney. He is currently working as a web designer at StyleTread and also a Vietnamese teacher at Sydney Language Solutions.

Experience:

Tony has strong passion and enthusiasm to teach Vietnamese. He has ability to interact with people and implements new teaching methodologies depending on the background of students. He also can deal with students who have problems in spoken Vietnamese with different strategies. Furthermore, he designs balanced, innovative programs that encourage students to make a positive impact on class.

Jaime Baquiran

Qualifications:
Jaime is a graduate of the University of Sydney, where he obtained a Bachelor of Medical Science with First Class Honours in physiology. He has worked as a research assistant at the Children's Hospital at Westmead within the Children's Cancer Research Unit. Jaime is currently undertaking extra curricular training in teaching principles of nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices to adolescents.

Teaching Experience:
With a background in both laboratory science and his current clinical training at the University of Sydney, Jaime brings to his teaching an integration of learning Australian English with understanding features of the Australian health care system, and it's cultural approach to clinical care. All of these aspects are vital skills required to perform well in the Occupation English Test (OET).

 

Megan Lee

Qualifications:
Megan is a Medical Science graduate with Honours in microbiology at Sydney University. She also has TESOL certification from International TEFEL teachers training college. Megan has worked previously teaching ESL English to university students at Chungang University and at major learning insitutes in Korea such as YBM, CDI and SDA. In Sydney she has taught in James An college, SMART college and Samsung corporate training at Sydney Language Solutions.

Teaching Experience:
Megan's enjoys teaching immensely. With her wide range of teaching experiences as well as medical knowledge, she is able to offer her students sufficient guide through both the language and health-specific aspects of the OET exam. 

 

 

Talata Sawadogo-Lewis

Qualifications:
Talata holds a Bachelor’s Degree from McGill University in Chemistry and Nutrition. She has a very strong background in medical science and medical terminology. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Sydney in International Public Health. Having lived in the United States and Canada for much of her life, English is her native tongue. She also speaks French and Spanish fluently which allows her to understand difficulties that can be encountered when learning –or perfecting– a new language.

Teaching Experience:
Talata has worked as a translator between French and English for the not-for-profit organization Africare in Burkina Faso. She has also worked tutoring high school students in mathematics and English. She has academic research experience and has worked for the government of Canada in food safety.
